Carlos Aguila

Carlos C. Aguila is a Miami, Florida property insurance lawyer and founder of Aguila Law. His practice is dedicated to civil litigation primarily in the representation of policyholders in disputes against their insurance companies. Mr. Aguila has litigated insurance coverage matters throughout the State of Florida and has successfully tried cases in both state and federal court. He is passionate about assisting his clients in difficult times, recovering the most for his clients and returning their properties to pre-loss condition in the quickest manner possible.

Prior to advocating on behalf of policyholders, Mr. Aguila practiced at one of the nation’s largest law firms where he represented insurance companies in property damage and contractual disputes. Mr. Aguila now advocates on behalf of policyholders against insurance companies using the valuable insight he attained.

In 2019, Mr. Aguila was selected by Florida Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star,” an honor given to the top 2 percent of attorneys in Florida who are 40 years old or younger. Mr. Aguila was recognized again as a “Rising Star” in 2020 by Super Lawyers and again in 2021. In that same year, Mr. Aguila was recognized by Best Lawyers in America as “Ones to Watch,” an award given to attorneys for outstanding professional excellence in private practice in the United States.

Mr. Aguila was born and raised in Miami, Florida and attended Christopher Columbus High School. While in high school, Mr. Aguila began his legal career working at a prominent law firm in Coral Gables, Florida. Mr. Aguila obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida International University, where he majored in Political Science and minored in Criminal Justice. Mr. Aguila received the honor of being placed on the dean’s list from 2008 through graduation in 2010. After serving his community working for Miami-Dade County, Mr. Aguila attended Ave Maria School of Law, in Naples, Florida, where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree. While in law school, he earned a judicial internship with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida and worked as a legal intern with the Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney. In addition to working in the public sector, Mr. Aguila worked at several South Florida law firms focusing in the areas of personal injury, foreclosure defense, family law and insurance coverage disputes.

Mr. Aguila is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, American Bar Association, the Columbus Lawyers Alumni Society and The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Aguila is licensed to practice in all Florida State Courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar.

As a first generation American, Mr. Aguila is fluent in Spanish and truly understands the meaning of dedication and hard work. This example was set forth by his parents who were immigrants of the United States. This appreciation is evident by his work ethic and participation in the workforce since the early age of fourteen. On his time off, Mr. Aguila enjoys spending time with his family, traveling with his wife and two daughters as well as wood fire grilling.
